The date was January 12, 1986. About 40 people packed into the old Otsego City Hall for the very first worship service of a new congregation called Christ Church. Just four years later, on Easter Sunday of 1990, a new worship center in northeast Otsego was dedicated to the Lord. Pastor Greg Pagh began his ministry in July of 1991 with a vision for outreach and community impact.

The number of worshippers soon grew to 200 and beyond. Programs and ministries expanded every year. In 1994, Christ Church was blessed to add ten more acres of land to the original five. Pastor Tom Ness joined the team as Youth Pastor in August of 1999 and today serves as Executive Pastor. Many other staff members have served faithfully over the years and continue to help us grow our young mission.

By the year 2000, worship attendance was exceeding 300. Sunday School classes were bursting at the seams and children and youth were being bussed to Otsego School. The much needed second phase of the building was completed, doubling the church footprint and providing more worship space, a new larger kitchen, classrooms, a beautiful nursery, youth room and expanded parking. In 2005 several additional internal modification were made to the facilities to maximize space usage. Today the congregation numbers 1,400 and once again we are in need of more space to grow!

Christ Church is a young, spirit-filled gathering of believers that is passionate about following Christ and reaching out to others. This passion is exemplified by our Mission Statement of “Sharing Christ’s Love!” To fulfill this mission we help people Worship, Connect and Serve. This simple process leads to dynamic results. Lives are being transformed. Families are being encouraged. Communities are being impacted. We are reaching out both locally and around the world. God continues to bless us with growth!
