Wedding Guidelines
Wedding Guidelines
Congratulations on your Engagement. The Pastors and people of Christ Church are happy to assist you in planning for your wedding. If you are not a member, we welcome you into our congregation. You will be in our prayers. To assist you in your preparations, please review the following guidelines.

Scheduling / Preparation
Weddings will be scheduled by Pastor Greg Pagh or Pastor Tom Ness after consultation with the couple. You will be asked to complete a Wedding Information Sheet with a non-refundable deposit of $100 to reserve a specific date for your wedding. This will be applied to the total fee.

Pre-Marriage Counseling
Four pre-marriage counseling sessions will be scheduled and conducted by the pastor, counseling staff, and/or married couple mentors. These pre-marriage counseling sessions focus on:
  • Getting acquainted and sharing personal histories; discussion of Christian marriage and related passages from the Bible; and initial discussion of wedding plans.
  • Prepare/Enrich Marriage Inventory. It takes one hour to complete this marriage relationship survey. It takes two sessions with the Pastor to review and discuss its results.
  • Discussion of Marriage Vows, Wedding Ceremony, and final planning.
Rehearsal and Wedding
Rehearsal will generally be scheduled the evening prior to the wedding at a mutually agreed upon time, usually 6:00.

If you desire the Pastor and spouse to attend a rehearsal dinner or your wedding reception, and for example, to offer a prayer at either of these celebrations, please send them an invitation and make these requests known in advance.

The Service
The pastor will work with the marriage couple to prepare the wedding ceremony and has final right of approval over its various elements.

All music should be appropriate for a Christian Worship Service and is also subject to final approval of the Pastor.

Use and Care of the Building

The seating capacity of the Christ Church sanctuary is 350. At the present time our fellowship hall is not available for wedding receptions.

Wedding parties will work with the Pastor and Wedding Coordinator to ensure the proper use of the church facilities.

A sound technician is provided during the wedding.

Decorating is the responsibility of the wedding party. Please check with the coordinator before using tape or tacks. Birdseed may be used outside the building only. (No other confetti, please.)

No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the church premises (inside or outside).

No smoking is allowed inside the church building. Please direct smokers to dispose of cigarettes in the container provided near the entrance.

The cost of any damage to the property will be assumed by the bride and groom/wedding party. A check for the applicable fees as listed is required two weeks prior to the wedding date.

Fee: $700.00
This fee covers the use of Christ Church’s facilities for the rehearsal and wedding, honorariums for the Pastor and Wedding Coordinator, Custodian, Sound Technician, the Prepare/Enrich Marriage Inventory, Wedding Bulletins and Counseling Sessions.

This fee represents 5% to 10% of the cost of most weddings today and should be considered an important part of the investment you are making in your future life together. However, if this fee causes a financial burden, one of the Pastors will be happy to discuss this matter with you privately, in the context of your entire wedding plans.
